Description
We are sure you know that Giraffes are the tallest mammals on earth but did you know their neck is too short to reach the ground? Have you seen the awkward way they have to open their front legs out wide so they can reach grass or drink water? Looks so funny but it works! They only need to drink once every few days, because most of their water comes from all the plants they eat.
A long time ago, scientists used to think that giraffes did not make any sounds but now we know that isn’t true. Giraffes bellow snort, hiss and make flute-like sounds as well as low pitch noises beyond the range of human hearing.
